Range of duties

As a warehouse logistics specialist you will have a variety of responsibilities in the field of logistics. With us you will learn everything you need to know from receipt through to shipment of goods. The varied tasks dealt with during training include storage and retrieval of goods, picking, driving forklifts, and office activities.

Training course

Skills and knowledge are acquired in various departments. Throughout the entire period of training, you will attend the vocational college in Unna for 1.5 days per week. You will take an interim and final examination at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Trainee allowance

1^st year of training 652 EUR per month

2nd year of training 716 EUR per month

3rd year of training 778 EUR per month

Advanced training / opportunities for development

Depending on relevant professional experience and aptitude, a warehouse logistics specialist can participate in external advanced training measures, e.g. master warehouse administrator, state accredited logistician or graduate in business administration, etc. Those in possession of a college entrance qualification can study at a University of Applied Sciences.

Prerequisites for training

• Advanced technical certificate followed by two years at commercial college or “A” Levels
• Good grades in Mathematics and German Language
• Interest in working with all modern office equipment / media
• Willingness to work in a team
• Good manners
• Open-mindedness

Duration of training

3 years; with good professional and academic performance, the final examination at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry can be taken six months before expiry of contract.

Training course

Trainees gain experience in various departments within the company (Accounts, Controlling, Secretary’s Office, Human Resources, Material Flow/Logistics, Quality Assurance, Customer Service, Purchasing). They acquire skills and knowledge which will later enable them to perform a wide variety of commercial tasks. Throughout the entire period of training, you will attend the vocational college in Unna for 1.5 days per week. You will take an interim and final examination at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

3rd year of training 778 EUR per month

Advanced training / opportunities for development

Depending on the field of employment, it is possible, after training, to attend various specialist training courses. It is also possible (depending on school-leaving qualification) to study for a  Business Management degree at the University of Applied Sciences or for a Diploma in Business Administration, including the option of part-time study while in continuing employment. There are also advanced training courses leading to the qualification of Office Administration Assistant, Foreign Language Correspondent, or Bachelor of Business Administration and Operations, etc.

• Interest in the installation and programming of computer systems

Training course

You will work in the IT Department, where you will acquire skills and knowledge which will later enable you to plan, implement and administer complex IT systems.

Scope of tasks

You will learn how to administer networks consisting of PC workstations and servers with various operating systems and functions. Experience with new acquisitions and system upgrades will provide you with knowledge of  project planning and implementation. You will also become familiar with the programming of database applications.

With us you will gain experience of the following IT environment:

• PC workstations with WindowsXP and MS Office applications
• PC application server with LINUX for various applications
• Warehouse management computer with UNIX
• SAP R/3 with Linux
• Oracle and MaxDB databases
